I am roughly the same age as Marie, and couldn't help doing the math, counting on my fingers all the hard things she survived and conquered while I was attending college, chasing careers, and raising kids. Her story isn't told for the purpose of making the reader feel sorry for her; rather, it's a chronicle of her life - from broken to beautiful - that shows us that we all have the capacity to take control of our destiny and craft a life that is fulfilling. I'm looking forward to seeing how she builds on the content in this book because she's set the stage to help a lot of people find peace and happiness. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- An Important Read for Healthy Resolution of Life's Missteps : As a psychotherapist I found this book to be a good representation of life's choices that we make as humans and how to resolve any long-term damage and/or conflicts created by these. This author captures the essence of how we may be impacted by decisions that we make throughout our development, as well as the result of traumatic events that happen within our family. It concludes with a healthy resolution of long-standing critical self-statements and how to best embrace our inner self, both spiritually as well as emotionally. I will certainly recommend this to my clients who are working to let go of both behaviors as well as messages from their past. I am also looking forward to Marie's next book as she is one of those great writers who speaks from her heart as well as past experiences.
